英美文學組
英美文學組於2013年成立，旨在提供對英美文學領域有興趣的學子進修的機會，深度學習獨立思考及文學文化理論。本課程不僅鼓勵延伸學習英美文學，更注重探討文學反映的文化、社會、政治等多元層面，期盼學生在鑑賞文學之美之餘，也能解析文本所蘊含的理念觀點及作品背後的文化、人文及社會省思；並且，對於作品的學術成就、文獻的重要性，甚至網路或其他傳媒所引發的評價等附加的核心價值，也都納入本課程培育的內涵。本碩士課程也致力於寫作能力的養成、針對特定領域的學術及批判研究、以及提升學生參與文學討論、研討會等公開學術發表時的口語表達能力。
特色：
- 提供優良學習環境以及多樣課程，幫助學生汲取深度英美文學及文化素養，激發其研究潛力。
- 所有課程均以全英語授課，養成學生全方位英語思辨、分析及溝通的習慣。
- 本系本國及外籍教師背景多元，學識專精涵括英美文學、比較文學、戲劇、兒童文學。
- 本系計畫邀請國內外知名學者擔任訪問學者，每年為此保留一名專任教職名額。
- 除了提供廣泛學術課程，本組的特色在於研究和教育文學所呈現的文化、社會和政治含意。許多課程能使學生直接或藉由比較的方式將課堂所學延伸到本土的探討，以助學生為將來的職涯準備，從事攸關英美語言、文學以及臺灣/亞洲文化關領域的工作。
- 文學組學生亦得以修習英語教學/應用語言學碩士班課程。
英語教學組
英語教學組創立於2000年，課程兼顧理論與實作，規劃宗旨在於：
第一 、提供機會更進一步探索台灣英語教學現況。
第二、提供有志於在台灣中等學校從事英語教育者機會，成為合格教師。
英語教學組延續系上之優良傳統，具有以下特色：
- 與中臺灣多所國高中與小學建教合作，提供學生實作機會。
- 教師專長涵蓋多樣學術領域。
- 所有課程皆以全英語授課，讓學生浸淫在全英語的環境，裨益其學習。
- 課程強調理論與實作並重。
- 課程與校內其他研究所與單位多有互動與合作，如教育研究所，本校附屬中學與小學，以及校內大一英文課程。

- Have competency in key issues and concepts in literary theory and criticism.掌握文學批評及理論重要的議題和觀念。
- Be proficient in the conventions of scholarship and bibliographic procedures and able to write well and do substantial scholarly and critical work in a specialized field.熟習學術及載錄書目的規範，發展良好的寫作、研究及批判特定學術題目的能力。
- Understand English/American Studies in the local, i.e. Taiwan/Asia-Pacific, context and develop new comparative, critical or interdisciplinary.將英美研究在地化，例如：納入台灣/亞太的脈絡，發展新的比較、批判或跨領域的研究方法。

Students in the English/American MA Program should be able to:

- To consolidate students’ theoretical knowledge and practical experience of English language teaching and learning整合學生在英語教學方面的理論知識及實務經驗
- To prepare competent secondary English teachers who are able to function effectively in a given teaching context 培育足以勝任各種教學處境的中等教育英語教師
- To cultivate reflective EFL teachers who are committed to continuous professional growth as a teacher培養具反思能力並致力於專業成長的英語教師
- To further develop students’ analytical ability and critical/independent thinking Skills. 提昇學生分析、批判及獨立思考的能力
- To prepare independent researchers who are capable of conducting scientific inquiries on educational phenomena 培養學生獨立研究、以科學方法探索教育現象的能力

Students completing the MA TEFL program should be able to demonstrate the following competencies:修畢英語教學碩士課程的學生應能有下列之素養：
- To understand the nature of language, language learning, language teaching, and language assessment; 了解語言、語言學習與教學、語言評量的本質
- To understand and apply principles and practices that promote language learning, teaching, and assessment; 了解並應用能提昇語言學習與教學和語言評量的原理與實務
- To teach English to a variety of students, especially at the secondary school level; 教導不同級別的學生英文，特別是中學生
- To reflect upon teaching practice and develop professionally; 進行教學反思及專業成長
